Introduction

This article explains how to post LaunchNotes announcements directly into Confluence as a blog post.

Before starting, ensure your Atlassian account is connected to your LaunchNotes project. Refer to the following article for a guide on how to do this:

How to post an announcement to Confluence

To post an announcement on Confluence, you can either create a new announcement or select an existing draft. After doing so, scroll down until you see Confluence on the right side.

From here toggle on Send to Confluence and select a Confluence space from the dropdown that you wish to post the announcement to.

Click publish now which will publish the announcement as a blog post within confluence.

Note: While the Confluence integration will convert most LaunchNotes Announcements to Confluence documents without issue, there are some known limitations. Please be aware of the following:

  • Emoji Support: Not all emojis may display correctly in Confluence.

  • Strikethrough: Confluence's strikethrough style might differ from your original HTML.

  • Page Breaks: HTML page breaks might not translate perfectly into Confluence.

Please reach out to support if you encounter any additional inconsistencies.

After you have clicked publish, LaunchNotes will provide you with a link to the post in confluence.

Note: Once published into Confluence the blog post cannot be updated from LaunchNotes, or vice versa. After publishing, they are considered two separate documents.
