This article will help give an understanding of how subscribing to a product updates page works, how to manage your subscription, and how product update notifications work.

It will cover the following:

Subscribing to a product updates page

Announcements Subscription (Product Updates)

If you're here it's likely that your company, or a company that you're a customer of has a Product Updates page that is powered by LaunchNotes. On top of being an enterprise-grade branded page for all historical updates, one of this pages superpowers is to notify it's subscribers about product updates - either in the form of Announcements (this just happened), or Roadmap updates and stage changes (this is what we're working on).

In order to subscribe to a page, when you're on the page, select the "Subscribe to Updates" button. A form will pop out requesting your email address - enter your email address and hit the "Subscribe" button.

You'll then be sent a confirmation email. Head over to your inbox and once received, open and select the "Click here to Verify" CTA

πŸ’‘ If you can't find it after a few minutes, it may be in spam. The email subject line will be "Verify your email address".

Once you've clicked to verify, you'll be taken to your subscription settings page "Your Subscriptions", where you can select (subscribe or unsubscribe) your two subscription channels, Email and Slack, and also select the categories of the product you wish to subscribe to - this is the segmentation engine that drives which notifications you will/will not receive when an announcement is published to the page.

πŸ’‘ Leaving the categories blank/unfiltered will result in you being subscribed to All categories. This is the default setting.

Once you've selected your channels and Categories, you're all set! When the owner of the page your subscribed to published an Announcement and sends notifications next, you'll receive these into your inbox/Slack instance.

Roadmap Item Subscriptions and Updates

The "Your Subscriptions" page will also show the Roadmap items that you are subscribed to.

Roadmap notifications can be sent for an update published to a roadmap item, and/or a roadmap stage change, and are only sent to subscribers who have subscribed to a roadmap item.

To subscribe to a roadmap item, visit the Roadmap tab on the published product updates page and select which items you'd like to subscribe to. You can click on each roadmap item for a detailed overview of each item.

Unsubscribing from a product updates page

You can unsubscribe from a product updates page in several ways. The first is to visit the product updates page and select "Manage Subscription". This will take you to the "Your Subscriptions" page and there you'll be able to toggle off both the Email and Slack channels. If both are toggled off, you'll be unsubscribed.

On this page, you'll also be able to unsubscribe from individual Roadmap items you previously subscribed to.

πŸ’‘ If you haven't been to the product updates page in a while, you may need to re-authenticate. You can do this by going through the "Subscribe to updates" flow outlined at the top of this article

Another way to unsubscribe is selecting the link in any email sent from the product updates page - every email sent will have an unsubscribe link that will unsubscribe you when clicked.
