Which custom fields are created from this integration?
The integration creates two custom fields on HubSpot contacts for each connected LaunchNotes project:
Categories
Roadmap items
What do I need to prepare in my HubSpot account before integrating with LaunchNotes
It’s recommended to create a new email subscription type in HubSpot before integrating. However, you can also use an existing subscription type if it suits your needs.
What permissions are required to install the integration?
To install and configure the integration, you need the following permissions:
In LaunchNotes: Admin access to the LaunchNotes project.
In HubSpot: While we recommend installing as a super admin to avoid permission issues, the critical permissions are:
CRM: View and Edit Contacts
Marketing: Marketing Access
Settings access: Marketing contacts access, App Marketplace access, and Subscription Type settings
What permissions does the integration require from HubSpot?
The integration requests the following permissions from HubSpot:
Manage and view your CRM data: To update and read contact properties related to LaunchNotes subscription preferences for categories and roadmap items.
Content: To send emails via HubSpot when this optional feature is enabled.
Basic HubSpot account information: To display basic HubSpot information and create links within LaunchNotes.
Update contact subscription preferences: To synchronize subscribe/unsubscribe events between LaunchNotes and HubSpot.
Marketing Single Send API access: To send emails via HubSpot when this optional feature is enabled.
How will the experience change for my subscribers?
Subscribers will have two ways to manage their subscription to LaunchNotes product communications:
Directly from your LaunchNotes page.
Through the HubSpot subscription preferences page.
When HubSpot is used for email sending, LaunchNotes’ double opt-in process is disabled. This means that as soon as a subscriber submits their email address via the LaunchNotes subscription form, they are automatically marked as confirmed. This skips the unconfirmed status and does not trigger a subscription confirmation email.
What HubSpot plan is required?
Subscriber synchronization is currently compatible with all HubSpot plans.
However, sending emails via HubSpot requires the Single Send API, which is only available on the HubSpot Marketing Hub Enterprise tier. This feature is a gated offering within HubSpot and is necessary for email functionality.
Why is the app unverified?
The app is privately distributed and not listed on the HubSpot Marketplace, so it hasn’t undergone HubSpot’s formal review process. While the HubSpot review is pending, the app has been thoroughly tested and vetted by the LaunchNotes team.
