The Slack Announce integration pipes LaunchNotes announcements and feedback into Slack via the LaunchNotes app channel. This enables your team and subscribers to:

  • Stay in the loop from the convenience of Slack

  • Discuss product updates and feedback with relevant teams and people

  • Turn on/off notifications for individual categories

This article covers the following:

Setting up the Slack Announce integration as a LaunchNotes user

If you're a LaunchNotes admin or contributor, you can install LaunchNotes Announce from the Management Portal.

  1. Under the top-right menu, click Personal Settings.

  2. Select the Notifications.

  3. Select Slack and follow the prompts to add the app to your preferred workspace.

  4. Now, when you navigate back to the Notifications tab, you can click the banner at the bottom of the page to select the individual categories you wish to receive announcement notifications about.

Discussing announcements and feedback

If you're subscribed to announcements, you'll see notifications in Slack each time an announcement is published and associated with the categories you're subscribed to.

If you have feedback notifications enabled in Slack, you'll see notifications in Slack any time feedback is submitted.

Here's an example of a Slack notification from a new announcement:

Within these notifications, you will see a "Discuss" button. This allows you to post the announcement into a channel of your choosing to start a conversation with your team members. If you're using Slack Connect to communicate with customers from outside of your org, you can also post these updates into those shared channels for discussion.

Here's an example of how you can send announcements into a channel for discussion:
