The Feedback importer gives you a way to import all current, siloed and/or previously-collected feedback and ideas into your LaunchNotes project to centralize it in the one place to filter, categorize, analyze and prioritize.

This can be especially helpful when switching feedback platforms to LaunchNotes, by easily loading your historical feedback into your project.

This article will give an overview of the following:

The Feedback importer

The Feedback importer works by uploading a file of pieces of feedback you'd like to import to your LaunchNotes project. It accepts multiple file formats, including (.csv, .tsv, .xls, .xlsx, .xml, .txt files) and with typed or pasted individual records.

The Import button is found via the Feedback inbox, which lives under the Ideas & Feedback tab in your management portal.

Selecting this button will open the Feedback Importer module, where you'll see options to drag and drop or select your existing file to import. You'll also see an option to download our CSV template, which can also be access below:

✅ We recommend using our Feedback Import template to ensure your source data matches up with the LaunchNotes feedback and Ideas fields

Once your data is uploaded or entered, the Feedback Importer module will walk you through a series of steps to ensure that the correct information is being loaded in to your LaunchNotes management portal, including:

  • Confirming header selection

  • Confirming column matches (columns in your file to template fields)

  • Review and finalize - fields can be edited in this screen, with errors highlighted

To complete the import, select the submit button and close out the importer. This will take you back to the Feedback Inbox, where you can clear the Needs organizing filter to see the most recently submitted feedback by date. You'll also see a success banner shown across the top of the inbox.

In the instance where you've submitted Ideas, you can find these under the Ideas tab, under the Ideas & Feedback parent tab
