Summary

You can get your LaunchNotes page live by setting up your page name, URL, and main copy, then toggling it to Published under the General settings tab. Once published, customers can access your updates at your custom subdomain. If your page doesn't have subscribers yet, the page will remain relatively hidden until you publicize the link.

Set-up the details of your page

1. Access your pages general settings

Navigate to Settings > Customize page > General settings

2. Configure your page details

  1. Name: Set an internal name for your project. This name is only used within your LaunchNotes account and is visible to your team β€” customers won't see it.

  2. Published: Toggle this switch on to make your page live and accessible to customers. You can leave it off while you configure your settings and toggle it on when you're ready.

  3. Sub-domain: Choose your page's URL (e.g., https://updates.launchnotes.io). Premium plans can get a custom sub-domain.

  4. Heading: Set the main title customers see at the top of your page (e.g., "Product updates").

  5. Sub-heading: Add a brief description that appears below your heading (e.g., "See the latest feature releases, product improvements, and bug fixes").

  6. Announcements name: Customize what you publicly call the "Announcements" tab on your page.

  7. Default announcement author: Designate a default author name that appears on every announcement (e.g., "Acme product team" or "The folks at Acme"). You can override this on individual announcements.

  8. Show announcement table of contents: Toggle this on to automatically generate a table of contents based on headers within each announcement.

  9. Privacy policy URL (admin only): Add a link to your company's privacy policy. This appears under forms and at the bottom of email notifications. The LaunchNotes privacy policy is used by default.

  10. Terms and conditions URL (admin only): Add a link to your company's terms and conditions. This also appears under forms and at the bottom of email notifications. The LaunchNotes terms and conditions are used by default.

  11. Start of fiscal year / Current fiscal year (admin only): Select when your company's fiscal year begins (e.g., January) and the current fiscal year (e.g., 2026). LaunchNotes uses this to calculate quarters β€” for example, Q1 FY2026 starts January 2026.

  12. Navigate by quarters (instead of months): Toggle this on to display quarters on the right side of your page rather than individual months.

How these settings appear on your page:

3. Publish your page

Under Settings > Customize page > General settings, toggle the Published switch to make your page live and accessible to customers. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Update to save changes. If your page doesn't have subscribers yet, the page will remain relatively hidden until you publicize your page's link.

Notes & important info

  • Preview before publishing: While your page is unpublished, you can still view it by clicking View Page towards the bottom of the settings tab.

  • Sub-domain propagation: Depending on your DNS configuration, it may take a few minutes for your custom subdomain to become accessible.

  • Update anytime: You can edit your heading, sub-heading, and other settings at any time, even after publishing.

Troubleshooting

  • My sub-domain isn't working: Verify your DNS settings are configured correctly. Contact your IT team or LaunchNotes support for assistance.

  • I need to unpublish my page: Simply toggle the Published switch off in General settings.
