Summary
Team member authentication controls who can log into your LaunchNotes workspace at app.launchnotes.io to create announcements, manage settings, and publish content. Choose the authentication method (Email, SSO, SAML) that matches how your organization manages employee access to applications.
(ex: control who has access to login and use your LaunchNotes account)
Setting up basic email and password authentication
Email and password is the default authentication method and requires no setup. Simply invite team members from your workspace and they'll create their own passwords.
Steps:
Navigate to Settings > Users
Click Invite user
Enter their email address and select their role. (Learn more about user roles here)
They'll receive an invitation email with instructions to create their password
When to use this: For smaller teams without existing identity management systems or when you need to add someone quickly.
Setting up SSO for team members
When someone signs in to LaunchNotes with Google or Microsoft, we verify their identity through their respective authentication system. Then LaunchNotes checks if their email domain matches your allowed domains list to authorize access. Once that happens, we'll automatically add them to your project.
Steps:
Navigate to Settings > Users
Click +Add {@your email domain}.
When to use this: For larger teams who have many users using LaunchNotes. These new sign ups will get authenticated into your LaunchNotes project.
