Summary

You manage your page subscribers through the Audience > Subscribers tab in your management portal, where you can view subscriber metrics, import subscriber lists, manage subscription statuses, and track subscriber growth. Subscribers control their own preferences through the Manage Subscription button on your page.

Managing subscribers in your portal

Understanding your subscriber table

Navigate to Audience > Subscribers in your management portal. The subscriber list contains a snapshot of everyone who has subscribed to your page. Here's an overview of each column:

  • Email address

  • Created - The date a subscriber was added to your list

  • Categories - The categories the subscriber subscribed to. By default this is all categories.

  • Channels - The channels (either email or Slack) the subscriber wants to receive notifications through.

  • Status - Communication status of the subscriber

    • Confirmed - Subscribed through your page and verified their email address

    • Unconfirmed - Subscribed through your page but have not verified their email address

    • Unsubscribed - Opted out of email notifications

    • Blocked - Cannot receive emails (see Understanding the 'Blocked' Status for Subscribers)

    • Action icon - Manually confirm, unsubscribe or resubscribe people.

Filter subscribers by status

  1. Click the filter icon beside the Status column

  2. Select from these status options:

    • Confirmed - Subscribed through your page and verified their email address

    • Unconfirmed - Subscribed through your page but have not verified their email address

    • Unsubscribed - Opted out of email notifications

    • Blocked - Cannot receive emails

Manage subscribers individually or in bulk

  1. Select one or more subscribers from your list

  2. Choose from available actions:

    • Confirm unconfirmed subscribers

    • Unsubscribe subscribers

    • Resubscribe previously unsubscribed users

How your subscribers manage their own preferences

Initial subscription flow

When users subscribe to your public page:

  1. User clicks Subscribe to Updates on your page

  2. User enters their email address

  3. User receives confirmation email

  4. User clicks confirmation link in email

  5. User selects notification preferences:

    • Email or Slack delivery

    • Specific categories to follow

Upon subscribing, your users will be sent a confirmation email.

Subscribers can then select the categories they'd like to receive notifications for via Email and Slack.

A public page subscriber can change their subscription settings, update their subscribed categories, and cancel their subscription by selecting the Manage Subscription button on your public page, where they'll be taken to the subscription management page. (The placement of this button can change based on custom css)

Note: We use cookies to serve a personalized experience to your subscribers. Your page knows who that subscriber is, and what they're subscribed to/have

left feedback or voted on. If the cookies expire or are cleared, the subscriber

may need to click Subscribe again, which will send them a Magic Link to

re-authenticate their session.

Importing Subscribers

Importing users via CSV upload

If you have a list of subscribers that you're already communicating updates to and would like to bulk import into your LaunchNotes subscriber list, you can do this from within your LaunchNotes admin. Reference Importing and Adding Subscribers for more information.

Importing users via the API

You can also import users via the API, and integrate this with your consent hub to manage your subscribers in tandem with your other customer communications. Please get in touch with us at [email protected] for more information on this.

Track subscriber growth over time

LaunchNotes automatically sends you a bi-weekly subscriber report via email showing:

  • New subscribers since last report

  • Growth trends and patterns

  • Overall subscriber count changes

You can disable these reports under your User Notification Preferences.

Notes & important info

  • Cookies enable personalization: LaunchNotes uses cookies to remember subscriber preferences and activity (subscriptions, feedback, votes). If cookies expire or are cleared, subscribers may need to click Subscribe again and use the Magic Link to re-authenticate.

  • Importing previously unsubscribed users won't work: If someone has unsubscribed, attempting to re-import their email will fail. They must resubscribe voluntarily.

  • Confirmation required by default: New subscribers must confirm their email before receiving notifications (unless you've enabled HubSpot email sending, which bypasses double opt-in).
