You can share LaunchNotes announcements in Slack to keep teams and your customers informed about product updates.
LaunchNotes offers three Slack integrations, each serving different communication needs:
Integration | Who controls it | Where updates appear | Best for |
Slack Announce (User-Pull) | Individual users | Personal DMs | External subscribers and team members who want to curate their own feed |
Slack Channel Notifications (Admin-Push) | LaunchNotes admins | Specific channels automatically | Internal team alignment and automated category routing |
LaunchNotes Control (less common) | Any Slack workspace user | Feedback collection only | Capturing customer feedback from Slack conversations |
Which integration should you use?
Use Slack Announce (User-Pull) when:
External customers want Slack notifications instead of email
Team members want to follow only specific announcement categories
Users need to selectively share updates to channels using the "Discuss" button
Use Slack Channel Notifications (Admin-Push) when:
You want automatic posting to team channels (#engineering, #product, etc.)
Different teams need to see category-specific updates
You're creating a dedicated #announcements or #product-updates feed
Use LaunchNotes Control when:
You're collecting customer feedback in Slack
Team members use Slack Connect to communicate with customers
You want to quickly capture and organize feedback without leaving Slack

Notes & important info
Note: Slack Announce requires no installation—it's enabled by default when subscribers sign up for your LaunchNotes page.
Note: You can use multiple Slack integrations simultaneously. For example, use Channel Notifications for internal teams and Slack Announce for external customers.
Important: LaunchNotes Control must be installed by Slack workspace admins, as it's a workspace-wide application.
