Summary
You can share your announcements through RSS by enabling the RSS feed in your LaunchNotes settings. Once enabled, anyone can subscribe to your feed using RSS readers or connect it to platforms like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zapier, and more to automatically distribute updates.
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a web feed format that automatically delivers your new announcements to subscribers without them visiting your page. Your feed includes announcement excerpts and links to full content.
Steps
Navigate to Settings β API & RSS in your LaunchNotes workspace
Toggle Enable RSS Feed to ON
Choose whether to make your feed public or private:
Public: Anyone can subscribe using your published page URL
Private: Generates a token-protected URL for restricted access
Copy your RSS feed URL from the settings page
Share the URL with your audience or paste it into your chosen platform (Slack, RSS reader, integration tool, etc.)
Notes & important info
Where can I use my RSS feed? Common destinations include:
Slack: Post announcements to channels without installing an app
Microsoft Teams: Use Power Automate to post to channels
RSS readers: Display updates alongside other sources
Integration platforms (Zapier, IFTTT, Workato): Trigger actions like posting to social media, sending emails, or creating webhooks
Customize your feed: You can configure the feed to include only announcements from specific categories or roadmap items. See Customize RSS feed with URL parameters.
Private feeds: When set to private, your feed is hidden from your published page and requires a token to access. Note that anyone with the private URL can view the content. See Private RSS feed.
Important: You must be a workspace admin to enable or configure RSS settings.
With the RSS feed enabled the URL of the published LaunchNotes page gains an attribute making it readable by RSS readers. With RSS enabled, you can inspect the page and look for the element beginning with
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml"to see the RSS feed URL. Admins will also be able to view the feed URL under the settings. Disabling the RSS feed will remove the alternative URL from the published page, and make any previously enabled feed inaccessible.
Troubleshooting
Can't find the RSS settings? Confirm you're logged in as a workspace admin.
Feed not appearing in RSS reader? Make sure the feed is enabled and set to public (unless you're using a private token URL).
Disabling the feed: Turning off the RSS feed removes the URL from your published page and makes any previously enabled feeds inaccessible.
