How do I send announcement digests to my subscribers?

Learn how to bundle multiple announcements into a single email or Slack notification

This feature helps maintain engagement by decoupling how often you communicate from how often your team ships updates. Send fewer messages that cover more ground, or resurface key announcements to make sure they get noticed.

Key Features

  • Bundle Announcements: Choose which announcements get bundled together to showcase in your digest.

  • Flexible Delivery: Choose a delivery cadence that fits your needs—weekly, monthly, or on a custom schedule—to keep your audience informed without overwhelming them.

  • Multi-Channel Support: Reach subscribers where they’re most active by sending Digests via both email and Slack.

  • Controlled Access: Contributors, Publishers, and Admins can create and edit draft Digests. Only Publishers and Admins can publish, ensuring that outgoing updates are controlled and reviewed.

Digest Targeting

By default, Digests notify subscribers who follow one or more of the categories tied to the announcements included.

The “Send to all subscribers” option allows you to bypass this targeting and send the Digest to all confirmed subscribers—regardless of their category preferences. This is especially useful when you need to deliver critical updates broadly, or when the Digest includes announcements from a mix of categories. Note: this still respects subscriber status and will not include those who have fully unsubscribed.

Use Cases

  • Monthly/Quarterly Summaries: Provide a round-up of all the enhancements, fixes, and improvements over a set period of time

  • Year in Review: Celebrate big milestones and product evolution with a once-a-year highlight reel.

Example Digest:

In the below example the Digest contains a title, an area to write summary text at the top and 3 announcements.

Steps to send a digest

  1. Go to the Digests section in your LaunchNotes management portal.

  2. Create a new Digest or open an existing one.

  3. Add at least one announcement. You can also customize the subject line and introduction.

  4. The digest will automatically send to subscribers to the categories.

    1. If you'd like to bypass category segmentation then click Send to all subscribers and it will go to your entire list.

  5. You can schedule the digest for a time in the future or "Send now" to deploy all email/Slack notifications immediately.

Notes & Important Info

  • For an announcement to be available to select for a Digest, the announcement must be published to your page (public or private).

  • If an announcement is sent to email and Slack but not published to your page, the announcement will not show as an option in the Announcement Picker.

  • The Digests feature is available on Premium plans.
